Simply Football: Potential Boise/Arkansas game next season? →
Word on the street is that Arkansas only has 11 confirmed regular season games scheduled for next season. Boise is playing AT Hawaii, and any team that plays AT Hawaii can opt for a 13th regular season game (Which is how they went 14-0 a few seasons back without a conference championship game)….
It would really be fascinating to watch this game…seriously, I’m curious, Jerry Jones.
I don’t know how I feel about this, since Arkansas lost Franklin, Bequette, Nelson, Wright, Adams, Childs, Green, and more. Those leaders in the senior class were the team’s anchor. Davis and Wilson staying is huge, but still! I don’t know who Boise is losing though. And I do think that Arkansas needs some high profile games on its slate, especially one at Cowboy Stadium, despite what happened with Texas and USC a few years back…

I love football
No helmet and still finishes the play.
All DD Jones does is win. Also, Dennis Johnson teabagged some guy and then held another guy up in the air. Can’t wait to see what they do next year.

Dear followers. I’m not in the U.S. and may not be able to root for the Hogs during the Cotton Bowl (FOX Asia isn’t airing it :c). So please do me a favor and cheer for Arkansas! Just for me? :3

I might have to stream the Cotton Bowl because FOX in the Philippines only airs TV shows.
I’ve searched as much as I could and it seems that predictions for the Cotton Bowl is (my estimate) an average Arkansas 35, Kansas State 28. That sounds about right.
I’m getting really antsy about the game. My bowl picks are in shambles, thanks to the SEC—the SEC teams I picked to win lost and the SEC teams I picked to lose won. Really guys?
Well, Friday can’t get here soon enough. I don’t get enough football here in the Philippines because of the time difference. Not complaining—I spent New Year’s at the beach. But I WANT RAZORBACK FOOTBALL.

one-on-one with a k-state fan
- Here's a small exchange I had with a Wildcat fan regarding the Cotton Bowl matchup between No. 6 Arkansas and No. 8 Kansas State.
- Rumil: Your thoughts on the matchup for the Cotton Bowl.
- Brennan: It could be a fun one. I definitely think we’ll have our hands full with your team, they’re a great group I have a lot of respect for. We like to run the ball a lot and eat up as much clock as possible. That’s what Arkansas will have to prevent us from doing. Our weakness is definitely pass defense. You certainly have the more talented team, but we’ve been underdogs in almost every game this season and exceeded expectations. I’m hoping for a great game! (I also think both our teams deserved a BCS bowl)
- Rumil: Yes, there were snubs this season, but this was the biggest. Definitely interesting that each team's offensive strength matches up against other's defensive weakness. Who are your biggest playmakers? I know your quarterback is quite a handful.
- Brennan: Our QB, Collin Klein, has carried the weight of the offense most this season. You’ll have to stop him from running. The others would be our running back Jon Huebert and receiver Chris Harper. Our QB’s certainly the guy to be most worried about, though.
- Rumil: Summaries about your offense, defense, and special teams? What worries you most about Arkansas?
- Brennan: The offense will mostly be powered by Collin Klein and John Hubert with the run game, when we do pass, the guy to watch for will be John Hubert, but rushing will likely make up most of our game. Our defense is strongest at the linebacker position, particularly, Arthur Brown, one of biggest impact players on the team. Our secondary is our weak point with the exception of cornerback Nigel Malone. Our special teams return game does well, but is weaker with the loss of return man Tyler Lockett (out for the season). The kicking game is pretty strong all around whether it’s our place kicker or punter, both consistently perform well. Stopping Arkansas’s passing game is certainly what worries me most.
- Rumil: Dare to make a prediction? And what will/would need to happen for that to come true?
- Brennan: Not sure if I can make a prediction. If Arkansas takes it I think they win by 10-14, if we win, it’ll likely be by 3-7, something close. Both will come down to defense, how well we can stop the pass and move the ball, and how well Arkansas can slow Collin Klein.
- Big thanks to Brennan. Check him out at: http://jacketweather.tumblr.com/

Southern Etiquette & Comfort: 10 commandments of college football →
- Thou shalt wear team colors. But think twice before adorning yourself with body paint—you don’t want to be the Internet photo that goes viral
- Thou shalt know—and sing—your team’s fight song from beginning to end. Sure, you can “watermelon watermelon” your way through the alma mater, but not memorizing the fight song is a fan failure.
- Thou shalt keep your language clean (unless, of course, the quarterback fumbles on fourth and goal).
- Thou shalt support the coach. Even when his calls are questionable
- Thou shalt be respectful to visiting teams. Remember: Southern ladies and gentlemen never boo.
- Thou shalt set up a tailgate no fewer than three hours before kickoff (six if it’s a night game). Table linens and matching huggers encouraged, but not required
- Thou shalt theme your tailgate food around the visiting rival. bulldawg bites, anyone?
- Thou shalt stay through the fourth quarter—rain or shine. That’s what ponchos are for, y’all.
- Thou shalt respect the solemnity of Game Day by planning weddings, births, and other life events around the football schedule.
- Thou shalt not covet other teams’ bowl games, national championships, or Heisman Trophy wins. There’s always next year
I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to know the alma mater. Having said this, there may or may not be photos of me on ESPN with body paint.
